5/01 – present ,  Fortissimo Enterprises, 324 Canal Street, Suite 4B, New York, NY  10013

I’ve worked with Fortissimo as a consultant and solutions engineer. I’ve project managed Infrastructure roll out ‘s covering aspects from wiring to systems architecture. I am a big proponent of cloud architecture   I have been successful at deploying fully integrated and scalable infrastructure solutions. Including vm’s for phone services, web services as well as mail and web hosting.

In one of the implementations i engineered i have several content management linux vm's, a trixbox voip with Sugar CRM integration running on a Mac Pro, with 10G ram.  It all runs off of vmware fusion.  the vms are all backed up specially by time machine so there is user fault tolerance, where the client could recover to a previous working copy of their system very easily.  This is all running off 1 ip address utilizing mod rewrites to do canonical name based redirection to the appropriate vm's.

6/90 to 6/95    The Bank of New York,  101 Barclay, NYC

I worked at the Bank of New York as a sr. programmer analyst in the securities systems division.

I was responsible for various components of our securities trading software called “The Workstation”. This product was coded using Visual Basic, Access, ODBC, C.
The workstation is the Windows version of Laser (see below). It relies heavily on Visual Basic, Access, ODBC. I was involved with the project from its inception. Visual Basic was used from version 1.0 through version 3.0. The workstation uses database functionality in every aspect of the program. The workstation used Access database. The software communicates using VT100 emulation and custom code to read scripts. This incorporates Access and ODBC to set and store values, which define user configurations and dialog options. The workstation software consists of the following calculators: standard, scientific, discount yield, interest at maturity, and notes and bonds calculations. Implemented using an assortment of financial functions compiled to a DLL using C, and front ended with Visual Basic encompassing an array of creative semaphores to mimic an actual table top calculator with paper roll. The core of the product revolves around Instruction Entry and View /Change/ Cancel processing - This facility allows modification to trades after they have been entered and before they have been sent to the mainframe for initial processing Changes can be made in a summary view, or full screen mode. Implemented in Visual Basic.

Laser 3.x (Local access securities exchange & reporting) written in C in a DOS Environment

I was responsible for the Institutional Delivery component. This consisted of 3 major parts. Download portion that receives security trades from mainframes that are to be confirmed. Summary / Detail, view/affirm portion that displays the records and allows the records to be affirmed, canceled, unaffirmed uncanceled, and held. Upload portion that sends completed trades back to mainframe for final processing and reporting. Implemented using a table driven methodology that allows unlimited inclusion of new file types and formats without code modification. Tables used for reading, displaying and report generation of all files.

Laser 2.x written in C in a DOS Environment . I worked on report generation - implementing hard coded formatting of templates. I also worked on the export facility - output to Lotus WKS format, comma delimited format, and report Image to text file.

1/88 to 6/90 American Express TRS,  770 Broadway, NYC

I was initially hired to administer and maintain the, New York International Festival of the Arts card member advanced ticketing system. This was a project that belonged to the performance engineering division of the planning and analysis department. After the festival was over I continued in performance engineering department as a systems developer. My department worked closely with Industrial engineers to study and improve on many operational processes throughout the company. Much of the work we did involved c programs running on pc’s interacting with mainframe systems via API, to automate various functions such as intelligent account review and card cancellation. I was then given the automated “Be My Guest” System to develop. The initial idea for the project came from one of the performance engineering team members. I wrote the program in C in AIX environment on an IBM RT. I was responsible for writing the entire system. The Be My Guest System was a new product offering. The system I wrote did point of sale, order entry, credit authorization, billing, reporting, and actual production of final product, which includes American Express "ROC", Invitation with custom personalized messages and custom mailing envelope. The system was successful and I was asked to redevelop the system in our west regional operations center.
